How to use clear communication strategies while at work—a Wellness Wednesday conversation

By Keisha Reynolds, MyCG Writer

Many would likely attribute a key source of stress at work to be rooted in poor communication styles and strategies. With that said, it is an important skill to learn. Thus, this week’s Wellness Wednesday, Chaplain Payne and Capt. Rebecca Ore, both from the Eleventh District’s, Sector Los Angeles / Long Beach, will show two parallel strategies pulled from two texts to create more meaningful professional communication: “Radical Candor” and “Crucial Conversations.” The session will be held on August 18, 2021, at 3 p.m. EDT on CG Teams.

Payne and Ore will capture the most applicable aspects of the two books, “Radical Candor” and “Crucial Conversations,” to give you concrete ideas to implement in your workplace as well as your personal relationships. If you would like to improve your ability to communicate during these most challenging times, this week’s Wellness Wednesday discussion is a must-attend.

Wellness Wednesday is being hosted on CG Teams. You will be able to access this forum from a Coast Guard workstation or you can call-in via the following number: 410-874-6742, Conference ID: 600 234 437#.
