Alert's crew conducted a 60-day maritime safety and security patrol in the Florida Straits; the deployment marked its first since the cutter shifted home ports from Astoria, Oregon, to Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Rear Adm. Carola List receives title of Ancient Albatross

The Ancient Albatross award is presented to the longest-serving active-duty Coast Guard aviator, representing a lifetime of devotion to flight operations, rescue missions, and maritime safety.
