Coast Guard units recognized for outstanding suicide prevention efforts
Coast Guard Petty Officer First Class Michael Mealey (ret.) and Chief Petty Officer Chad Cruset represent Port Security Unit (PSU) 309 at the 2024 DoW Suicide Prevention Recognition Ceremony held at the Pentagon on September 4, 2025. Rear Admiral Shane Steiner, Acting Assistant Commandant for Workforce and Family Services, presented certificates and coins to PSU 309 and members from Sector Northern New England (not pictured) recognizing their outstanding work in suicide prevention.
