A home is shown Dec. 4, 2020, at the South Post Family Housing area at Fort McCoy, Wis. Twenty-two homes are officer homes (nine three-bedroom and 13 four-bedroom), and 91 are enlisted homes (55 three-bedroom and 36 four-bedroom). The area doubled in size in 2017 after the completion of 57 new homes. Another seven homes are nearly complete in the area. A Special Needs Program enrollment reminder

The Coast Guard has announced the eight 2020 Coast Guard Civilian Employee of the Year and Non-Appropriated Fund Employee of the Year awardees. The Commandant will preside over a ceremony at Coast Guard headquarters on Sept. 29 to recognize these individuals. Unlike in previous years, this will not be open attendance due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Coast Guard honors eight civilians with prestigious Employee of the Year Awards 

The Coast Guard has announced the eight 2020 Coast Guard Civilian Employee of the Year and Non-Appropriated Fund Employee of the Year awardees.

Lt. Michael White, a nurse at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s intensive care unit, uses telehealth to discuss patient statuses and recommendations with Tiffany Ingram, a nurse at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Telehealth is the use of telecommunications and information technologies to provide health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education, and health-related information across distances. White, a native of Boise, Idaho, says, “Telehealth provides us the opportunity to access those critical care resources to help mitigate staffing shortages. From a nursing standpoint, it gives us a second pair of critical care nursing eyes on the patient data to potentially catch any signs or symptoms that might get missed by the assigned nurse.” (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
