Chaplain’s Corner: Understanding how your spiritual fitness contributes to your successful military service

Research assistant, Kayla Enochs, directs BACH physical therapist Dr. Lee Webb, to raise his leg during a physical therapy session demonstrating exercises performed by Soldiers enrolled in a research study at BACH. Physical therapists at BACH partnered in a research project aimed at finding effective methods to treat service members with patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS), commonly known as runner’s knee. Their research found that Soldiers who used a neuromuscular electrical stimulation device, like the one Webb is wearing, in addition to an active home exercise program over a 9-week period experienced more improvement than Soldiers who only performed active home exercise.
