The Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton (WMSL-753) crew offloaded more than 18,700 pounds of cocaine, nearly 1,500 pounds of marijuana and 15 gallons of liquefied cocaine, all worth more than an estimate $324 million, April 3, 2020 at Port Everglades, Florida. The drugs were interdicted in international waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean off the coasts of Mexico, Central and South America, including contraband seized and recovered in 15 interdictions of suspected drug smuggling vessels by nine American and Canadian ships. Sea Commander: The tech tool that National Security Cutters rely on for interdictions

NSC software allows crews to see, even when the target is out of sight.

Munro is one of four National Security Cutters homeported in Alameda. These Legend class cutters are 418-feet long, 54-feet wide, and have a 4,600 long-ton displacement. The Long Blue Line: Standing a deadly watch 75 years ago—final hours of Scotch Cap Lighthouse

Chief Sanford broadcast stating “we had been struck by a tidal wave and might have to abandon the station, and that I believed Scotch Cap Lightstation was lost.” He worried that his transmissions might be taken as an April Fool’s joke.

New: Concealed-carry credentialing program for Coast Guard law enforcement personnel

Current and former law enforcement officers can carry a personally owned firearm concealed while off-duty, not in uniform, in any jurisdiction in the U.S. with certain exceptions.

Operation Honey Bee: The Coast Guard is flying COVID vaccines

The Eleventh Coast Guard District has been getting creative in distributing vaccines throughout the Pacific Area.
