A team from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy participated in the National Security Agency’s 20th annual National Cyber Exercise (NCX), a three-day cyber competition that tests the offensive and defensive cybersecurity skills virtually, April 8-10, 2021. Twelve new housing units have been added to Culp Court within the Coast Guard Triumph Housing Complex in Astoria, Ore., and families can begin moving in June 27, 2019. The 12 new units plus a maintenance and operations building complete phase II of a housing project that has cost a total of $19.3 million to complete. FORCECOM Receives the 2021 International Society for Performance Improvement  Award  

Force Readiness Command is scheduled to receive the 2021 International Society for Performance Improvement Award of Excellence in May.

The USCGC Alert (WMEC 127) and its crew return to homeport in Astoria, Oregon, Wednesday, April 7, 2021, following a 63-day patrol that began in early February. The cutter and crew patrolled off the coast of Mexico and in the vicinity of the United States-Mexico Maritime Boundary Line enforcing international laws and treaties to disrupt illegal narcotics and migrant smuggling. The Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton (WMSL-753) crew offloaded more than 18,700 pounds of cocaine, nearly 1,500 pounds of marijuana and 15 gallons of liquefied cocaine, all worth more than an estimate $324 million, April 3, 2020 at Port Everglades, Florida. The drugs were interdicted in international waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean off the coasts of Mexico, Central and South America, including contraband seized and recovered in 15 interdictions of suspected drug smuggling vessels by nine American and Canadian ships.
