By MyCG Staff

Admiral Karl Schultz and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard (MCPOCG) Jason Vanderhaden have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Commandant shared the following on social media: "Myself and MCPOCG Vanderhaden both received the COVID-19 vaccine recently (12/28-CCG; 1/5-MCPOCG). This vaccine is safe, effective, and a vital step to protecting our force, thus enabling the United States Coast Guard to stand the watch and protect our fellow citizens and our National interests. MCPOCG and I strongly urge our fellow service members to get vaccinated as soon as you're offered the opportunity. Vaccination moves us forward in our fight against COVID-19 and is essential to protecting you, your shipmates, your families, and the Nation we're honored to serve. Stronger Together!"
