The Coast Guard is asking you for ideas on where robotics process automation (RPA) could be used to increase efficiency now and into the future. If you have an idea, or potential use case for RPA, please submit your idea through the Coast Guard Robotics Process Automation (RPA) Use Cases Challenge on CG_Ideas@Work.
Use case submissions must be sufficiently detailed for consideration, including as much information as possible. If more information is needed , the project team from the Research and Development Center (RDC) will reach out to you.
The RDC team will select several use cases from the submissions for additional automation development. If your submission is selected, you will be asked to work with the RDC project team to implement an RPA solution at your unit.
What is RPA?
RPA is technology that employs bots to complete computer and network tasks. There are two scales of RPA, attended and unattended bots. Attended bots are launched by a human user. These bots then assume control of the user's computer to rapidly complete a well-defined task. Unattended bots work in the same way but are scheduled or triggered from a server to launch and conduct tasks on their own without human supervision.
