Live jazz: Miles Davis' iconic album 'Birth of the Cool'

The Coast Guard Band Jazz Nonet presents “Birth of the Cool” on Sunday, April 25 at 2 p.m. EST.

In a rare event, Miles Davis’s iconic album, released in 1957, will be performed in full! Through the Virtual Concert Hall, the Coast Guard Band remains committed to representing the men and women of our service and highlighting the talents of our excellent musicians. Watch the show live on YouTube or Facebook.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: The “Name that Nonet” initiative is underway and we need your help! Initial voting on our Facebook page begins Wednesday April 7 and goes through April 14. You will then have the chance to vote among five finalists until April 21st. The winning name for the group will be announced during the livestream on April 25, so be sure not to miss this live broadcast! 

Due to concerns regarding the spread of Coronavirus, the Coast Guard Band will not be performing for live audiences unless specified. In the meantime, please view our musical content on YouTube by searching “United States Coast Guard Band” and subscribing.
