Coast Guard 17th District personnel receive COVID-19 vaccine

The Coast Guard has reached another milestone in the service’s efforts to vaccinate its entire workforce against the COVID-19 disease. As of June 30, 71.8% of the service’s active duty workforce is fully vaccinated, and 74.1% is vaccinated with at least one dose.

With the active duty and reserve military members combined, the Coast Guard has 69.2% members fully vaccinated, and 71.5% combined members with at least one dose.

“The Coast Guard is doing our part to meet the President’s goal by July 4^th,” said Vice Adm. Paul Thomas, the Coast Guard’s Deputy Commandant for Mission Support. “As a service, we are getting vaccinated to ensure Coast Guard readiness by protecting ourselves, our families, and our communities. Vaccinations are the primary way we will emerge from this pandemic.”

The Coast Guard is building on this milestone to fully vaccinate 100% of its total workforce.
