Get your holiday vacation and other requests in before Direct Access goes offline Dec. 20

By Nicole Bertrand, MyCG Writer

Direct Access (DA), the Coast Guard’s Human Capital Management System, will not be available as of 12:01 a.m., EST Monday, Dec. 20. It is expected that DA will be back online for you to be able to access Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. EST. This will potentially impact all active duty, reservists, retirees, annuitants, and civilian supervisors of military members.

This period of no access will be used to support 2022 pay rate and regulatory changes. This process of limited availability occurs annually. This will not affect your pay which you will receive as scheduled.

In addition to not being able to submit absence requests, you will be unable to change or add a dependent or report a change in entitlements. There will also be no separation transactions and no processing of orders, to include reserve IDT, ADT, etc., during this period.

Once Direct Access comes back online, you will be able to access it the same as always. The logon access and URL will remain as they are.

Separate guidance for commands and service personnel offices (SPOs) will be provided in an upcoming ALCGPSC message. Guidance pertaining to A and C school orders will be provided in an upcoming Coast Guard Education and Training Quota Management Command (ETQC) training advisory. Commanders, commanding officers, officers-in-charge, and command
senior enlisted leaders should advise all members of the need to complete any required work prior to 12:01 a.m. EST, Dec. 20.

If you need to have access during the offline time period you can reach out to Lt. Brenda J. Delgado. All requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. See Advance Preparations for Upcoming Limited Availability to Direct Access ALCOAST 427/21 for more information.
