Female officers: Order your SDW uniforms from CGX

By Chief Warrant Officer 4 Allyson E.T. Conroy, MyCG Staff

You’ve been looking for the women’s service dress white jacket in a Navy exchange, but to no avail. And as the spring months of changes of command and overall formal affairs approaches, you really need a new jacket. Where do you turn now? Shopcgx.com.

Some female officers may have noticed that the Navy exchanges no longer carry the female SDW jacket because that service has changed their style of jacket. Navy officers all wear the same style jacket for the SDW uniform. However, the Coast Guard has decided to stay with the traditional SDW woman’s jacket for now.

The good news is the Coast Guard Exchange System has plenty.

“We have SDW jackets in stock right now,” said Scott Poteet, the Director of Business Development for the Coast Guard Exchange. “Any eligible patron can register online and purchase uniforms at shopcgx.com. The system is able to determine if you are a military member. And we have the female service dress white uniforms in stock.”

Poteet says it is easy to place your order online. Once your order is received, it is filled and mailed directly to the patron’s home address. He also says, “the good thing about buying the SDW jacket from the Coast Guard Exchange is that the correct buttons are already on the coat. You don’t have to switch them out.”

It is frustrating when you can’t find what you need in the store that you are physically shopping in, however, the Coast Guard Exchange makes it easy for members to order you uniform items online and shipped directly to you.

Bottom line, register with shopCGX.com to order your Coast Guard uniforms.
