Reminder: Don’t miss the Officer Personnel Management’s virtual roadshow this week on officer evaluations

By Nicole Bertrand, MyCG writer

Evaluations are crucial to your career progression and Officer Personnel Management (OPM) is offering the chance for you to get answers to your questions and stay up to date on the latest information. The virtual session will be held on Mar. 2 at 2 p.m. EST. This is the second in a series of 10 sessions.

During this session, members from Officer Evaluations Branch (OPM-3) will be presenting the latest and greatest material that pertains to the Officer Evaluation System (OER) and Officer Specialty Management System (OSMS) 2.0, as well as some updates about the ongoing efforts to change how you, as an officer, will be evaluated.

You can request to attend by emailing OPM-4 to in order to receive an invitation and link. If you are interested in multiple upcoming virtual sessions, include that as well in your email and specify the dates and events. You will be sent an invitation and link one week before each event. To prepare for the sessions, you are highly encouraged to see last year’s virtual road show recordings by going to OPM-4’s Portal page.

“The OER is one of the single most important documents in an officer’s record and OSMS 2.0, although three years old, still requires explanation and awareness,” said Cmdr. Jared Silverman, chief Officer Career Management Branch. “The OPM-3 staff is amazing at their jobs and are prepared to share their expert guidance.”
