Officers: Tune in to listen to experts talk support and special assignments on the next OPM virtual roadshow

By Nicole Bertrand, MyCG Writer

Join special assignment subject matter experts April 20 at 2 p.m., Eastern Time as they present information about unique assignments, which can help your professional development enabling you to take advantage of rewarding and unique assignments. This virtual event is the fourth in a series of 10 sessions Officer Personnel Management Division (OPM) is offering this assignment year.

In addition to featuring expert presentations, the online session will be dedicated to answering your questions. You will learn how special assignments for assignment year 2022 (AY22) went and receive guidance to prepare you for the upcoming assignment season. There will be a specific focus on eResumes and what it means to be on a “short-list.”

“Officers should consider support and special assignments as a way to broaden themselves and open doors for additional future leadership opportunities outside of their primary specialty,” said Cmdr. Sarah Brennan, senior Support and Special Assignment officer.

If you are interested in attending, email OPM and you will receive the attendance invitation email with a link.  You can also specify if you would like to attend any of the remaining sessions by listing the events and dates from this earlier MyCG article.

Commands are encouraged to watch the videos immediately preceding the Virtual Roadshows to bolster wardroom conversations and create unit specific questions. You are highly encouraged to listen to a recording of last year’s corresponding virtual roadshow session available on OPM-4’s portal page to prepare for the upcoming event.
