Learn about prevention assignments during upcoming OPM virtual roadshow

By Nicole Bertrand, MyCG Writer

The Officer Personnel Management (OPM) continues its virtual roadshow with prevention assignments scheduled for May 11 at 2 p.m. EDT. This is the sixth of 10 sessions on various topics important to an officer’s career.

This session will feature the prevention assignment officers and provide updates on how assignment year 2022 (AY22) went. There will be a specific focus on eResumes and fielding your questions about managing your career in preparation for future promotion boards or command screening panels. This session is a great time to ask questions about competitiveness of certain assignments such as command opportunities and leadership positions within the prevention community.

If you would like to attend, send an email and you will receive an invitation link. In your email, specify if you would also like to sign up for any of the remaining virtual sessions by indicating which events, along with their dates. A list of events and dates can be found here. Additionally, units can request in-person roadshows by email.

“I’m hoping officers come loaded with questions because that’s what we’re here for—to help,” said Lt. Cmdr. Michael Novak, senior prevention assignment officer.

You are highly encouraged to listen to a recording of last year’s corresponding virtual roadshow session available on OPM-4’s portal page to prepare for the upcoming event. Commands are encouraged to review the recordings with their staff immediately preceding the Virtual Roadshows to bolster wardroom conversations and create unit specific questions.
