Coast Guard Foundation spouses education grants are now open!

By Keisha Reynolds, MyCG Writer

The Coast Guard Foundation has opened its second 2024 education funding season for Coast Guard spouses. Spouses can apply for $1,000 grants from today, Aug.1 -  Dec. 1, 2024.

The funding is available through the Coast Guard Foundation spouse education grant program. Spouses of enlisted Coast Guard members are eligible, specifically ranks E-1 to E-8, studying at a nationally or regionally accredited institution or program. Alternatively, spouses of enlisted members may also apply for a grant to support their college and professional training goals. In any case, the $1,000 awards may cover tuition, fees, supplies, and related education expenses.

“For spouses of Coast Guard members, achieving higher education goals or professional licensing and certifications helps to boost your family’s financial stability and bring personal fulfillment,” said Coast Guard Foundation Program Manager Sage Williams. “The Coast Guard Foundation offers education grants to spouses so that they have everything they need to provide for their family and strengthen their well-being. And, we are pleased to assist them in this way.”

The Coast Guard Foundation’s spouse education grants are limited to one grant per calendar year. If an applicant has questions on their eligibility, they can reach out to the Coast Guard Foundation program manager for clarification. To contact Sage Williams, email swilliams@coastguardfoundation.org or call 860-535-0786. Spouses can apply for education grants through the Coast Guard Foundation’s website.
