Coast Guard introduces new Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider for civilian employees

By MyCG Staff

Big news for civilian employees and their families—the Coast Guard is changing its Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider to offer you even more support.

As of June 26, 2025, the new EAP provider for the civilian workforce is Federal Occupational Health (FOH). They're part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and have been helping federal employees for over 40 years. This change means you'll continue to have free, confidential access to valuable resources for your well-being.

At this time, the transition to the FOH EAP is only for civilians and dependents.  A separate announcement will be coming soon regarding EAP services for active duty and Selected Reserve military members, as well as any Department of Defense (DoD) or U. S. Public Health Service (USPHS) members assigned to the Coast Guard.

What can the FOH EAP do for you?

An EAP is a free and confidential service designed to help you and your family handle life's challenges. FOH services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year!  Here’s what’s available:

  • Free, confidential counseling: Get support (in-person or online) for personal, family, or work issues, stress, emotional difficulties, or substance use concerns.
  • Financial & legal support: Get help with money worries, legal questions, and even identity theft protection.
  • Family & life resources: Find resources for childcare, elder care (including in-person assessments!), parenting, adoption, education, and even everyday needs like moving or home repairs.
  • Online tools: Access a website with live and recorded webinars on many helpful topics.
  • Support for supervisors: Managers can also get guidance on workplace issues.
  • Grief support: Special services are available if you're dealing with a loss related to work.

Important Dates for CG SUPRT Users

The current CG SUPRT contract will end on August 25, 2025.

  • After August 25, if you call CG SUPRT for new help, they will automatically connect you to FOH.
  • If you have an open case with CG SUPRT right now, it will close on August 25, 2025. CG SUPRT will help guide you to FOH or other resources if you need continued support.

How to Connect with FOH

FOH is ready to help whenever you need it.

The Coast Guard is committed to your well-being. We encourage you to use these valuable resources to support your health and happiness!
