Registration for the 2026 Coast Guard Marathon opened for all competitors August 4. The scenic race will be held in Elizabeth City, North Carolina April 10–12, 2026. Don't get left behind! The Marathon held this past spring, welcomed participants from all 50 states and 15 countries, with nearly 2,500 in-person runners and over 6,500 attendees at the expo and festivities.

Honoring the Legacy of Lightkeepers
The 2026 Coast Guard Marathon honors America’s coastal guardians by spotlighting the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and the brave lightkeepers who protected mariners for generations. Marking 230 years since Congress first debated building a lighthouse on the Outer Banks, this year’s theme pays tribute to a pivotal chapter in maritime history. To commemorate this legacy, all official runner swag—including shirts, medals, and challenge coins—will feature custom designs inspired by Cape Hatteras, celebrating the rich maritime heritage of the U.S. Coast Guard and the enduring beacons that have stood watch through every storm.
Note: In-person Half and Full Marathon participants must register by March 22, 2026, due to mandatory background checks required for base access.

About the Coast Guard Marathon
