Coast Guard developing new culinary services system

By The Office of Culinary Services (CG-CMO-3)

Attention, Culinary Specialists (CSs)! Big changes are coming to make your jobs easier.

The Office of Culinary Services and the C5I Service Center’s Mission Support Systems Product Line (MSSPL) are working with Microsoft to develop a new application, the Culinary Services System (CSS). This new app will automate administrative processes for CSs across the fleet. It follows efforts under Force Design 2028, the Coast Guard’s roadmap for the future, to empower members with the technology they need to do their jobs well.

The CSS will streamline the paperwork with a top-of-the-line app that will make inventory, budgeting, reporting, and meal planning easier and more efficient. The CSS’s automation will give you more time in the kitchen doing what you love—cooking and fueling your shipmates! That means no more Excel spreadsheets with endless tabs.

The CSS, which will be available on Coast Guard tablets and computers, will work both on and offline via an app on Pixel.

The CSS will launch early to mid-2026, and the Office of Culinary Services will offer training and job aids to help the workforce. Stay tuned for future updates and information! If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact the Office of Culinary Services or submit questions via the forms link: CGDF Workbook transition to Culinary Services System (CSS) question submission.
