The CGFIXIT application is getting a major upgrade! Beginning today, the Coast Guard is switching to ServiceNow for a faster, smoother IT experience.
What to Expect:
- Temporary Bumps: While we're moving everything over, expect some potential delays in support. We're working hard to minimize these and will be adding more staff to the Centralized Service Desk (CSD) soon to get things back on track quickly.
- Data is Coming Along: We're moving all your existing CGFIXIT requests over, but there might be a few hiccups. Thanks for your patience!
- New Look, Better Feel: The new CGFIXIT will have a fresh, user-friendly interface. You might need a little time to adjust, but we're confident you'll find it easier to use with some enhanced features coming over time.
What You Need to Do:
- Keep Using CGFIXIT: For now, keep submitting your trouble tickets as usual. All the old CGFIXIT links will automatically redirect. If you saved any personal links, make sure to update them! The support number, 855-CGFIXIT, remains the same.
- Get Trained: Check out the CGFIXIT Community SharePoint Site (CAC required to access) for training materials, tutorials, FAQs, and more to get familiar with the new ServiceNow version.
- Ask Questions: Join the CGFIXIT Community Teams Space to connect with the transition team, ask questions, and share your feedback. For broader questions about the IT changes, email ASK-C5I-Infrastructure@uscg.mil .
- Service Owners and Techs: Head to the CGFIXIT Learning Center for training specifically designed for you.
This upgrade might have a few short-term challenges while we continue to implement updates, but it's a crucial step in modernizing our IT and making sure you have the best tools to succeed. Check out the CGFIXIT Community SharePoint Site and stay tuned!
