Temporary disruptions in Military OneSource services

By AJ Pulkkinen, MyCG writer

Military OneSource (MOS), the Coast Guard’s provider of Employee Assistance Program services for military members and their dependents, recently transitioned to a new contract vendor. While this change is aimed at improving services, it has caused some temporary disruptions, including longer-than-usual wait times and challenges accessing non-medical counseling. MOS is actively working to resolve these issues, with full-service restoration expected by December 2025. Please note that this does not impact Employee Assistance Program services for civilian employees and their dependents, which is through Federal Occupational Health.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Availability of virtual and in-person non-medical counseling varies by state. If the services you need are not available in your area, they will help you connect with other free or covered counseling resources.
  • If you are currently seeing a counselor who is not part of the new network, Military OneSource can help:
  • Specialty consultations are fully available right now. These include support for:
    • Adoption
    • Building Healthy Relationships
    • Education
    • Elder Care
    • New MilParent
    • Peer-to-Peer Support
    • Spouse Relocation and Transition
    • Special Needs
    • Wounded Warrior & Caregivers

If you have questions or experience any technical difficulties, please reach out to the Military OneSource help desk.

As always, if you need more urgent assistance, please call 911, 988, or reach out to your chaplain, clinic, or Tricare mental health services
