Friday, Feb. 30 is the last day to complete new mandated supervisory training

To drive a high-performance, high-accountability culture in the federal workforce and improve services to the American taxpayer, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is reforming employee performance management across the Federal government to ensure individual initiative, skills, performance, and hard work are recognized and rewarded. In support of this effort, OPM has announced a new required training entitled “Performance Management Training for Federal Supervisors” for all supervisors (military and civilian) of civilian employees.

Reminder from ALCOAST 017/26 - JAN 2026 Civilian Employee Performance Management Update:

  • Initial completion of this training course is due no later than Friday, 30 January 2026.
    • Supervisors appointed the week of Sunday, 01 February 2026, must complete this training no later than Sunday, 08 February 2026.
    • Supervisors appointed after Sunday, 08 February 2026, must complete the training within one year of their initial appointment.
  • All supervisors are required to complete refresher training at least once every three years.

This required training is located in the USCG Online World of Learning (OWL) and listed under course number 100759, “Performance Management Training for Federal Supervisors.”
