Divers train in extreme conditions to master their craft

Diving just got cooler.

U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Andres Murtillo enters the water Feb. 1, 2020, during a scuba dive about seven miles north of McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Scuba divers from the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army and the Royal Canadian Navy are serving aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star (WAGB-10) in order to effect emergency repairs if needed to the 44-year-old heavy icebreaker.
