Coast Guard members and civilian boat crews are working to boom off inlets to these areas in order to prevent contamination of one of the Gulf Coast's most sensitive ecosystems.

The Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council has announced $302 million in funding to address ecosystem needs across throughout the Gulf of Mexico  

The funding decision supports restoration activities spanning the Gulf Coast states impacted by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill
