Leendert van der Pool honored with the 2025 George Gray Award

The winning artwork, “Daring rescue,” shows a Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater rescue of a mariner and his dog when the mariner’s vessel became disabled off Florida’s West Coast.

In this work from the U.S. Coast Guard Art Program 2014 Collection, "'Rollin', Rollin‚Rollin''" ID# 201401, crewmembers and their 47-foot Motor Life Boat roll in the surf during training exercises in waters near the Coast Guard station in Morro Bay, Calif. Artist Debra Keirce Wins the art program's 2022 George Gray Award

The Coast Guard and the New York City Police and Fire Departments provide a security escort for the USNS Comfort’s arrival into New York Harbor. The Navy vessel was sent to assist in responding to the COVID-19 virus. Coast Guard crew from Cutters Shrike and Sitkinak, Maritime Safety and Security Team New York, Station New York and Air Station Cope Cod participated in the escort.
