Death Gratuity Payment
This instruction details a death gratuity payment of up to $10,000 to the personal representative of an appropriated fund employee who dies from a traumatic injury sustained in the line-of-duty.

Employee Assistance Program
The USCG provides employees with free resources to help manage personal challenges. The program, called CG-SUPRT, offers confidential services like counseling, financial coaching and wellness coaching.

Federal Employees Health Benefit (FEHB)
The FEHB is available to eligible civilian employees and their eligible family members, as well as, eligible civilian retirees and their survivors.

Telework
You may be eligible for alternative work arrangements. Civilian employees who participate in telework must complete telework agreements; the form is available here CG-5330 or can be found in COMDTINST 5330.4

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
The Flexible Spending Account Program allows you to set aside pre-tax funds to help pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses and some dependent care services.

Military Deposit to Civilian Retirement
A military deposit is a payment made to allow an employee to use creditable military service for retirement eligibility and annuity computation purposes.

Nursing Mothers
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requires the Coast Guard to provide nursing mothers with a reasonable break time to express breast milk in a private space.

Reasonable Accommodation
This law requires that the Coast Guard provide reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees with disabilities.

Volunteer Community Service
Employees who participate in volunteer activities directly related to the Department of Homeland Security’s mission can receive up to 40 hours of administrative leave per year.

Office of Workers' Compensation (OWCP)
The OWCP administers disability compensation programs, which provide wage replacement benefits, medical treatment and other benefits to certain workers or their dependents who experience work-related injuries or occupational disease.

Continuation of Pay
An employee who sustains a traumatic injury can be given regular pay for up to 45 days, with no charge to their sick or annual leave.

EHRI Electronic Official Personnel Folder (opm.gov)
The eOPF system contains electronic copies of the documents that make up your Official Personnel File. These may include notifications of personnel actions, like cash awards, registration for health benefits, or TSP enrollment. You can view and print these documents, or update your emergency data.
