CG Portal going online  

The Coast Guard plans to soon begin migrating the Coast Guard Portal (CG Portal) to a secure cloud-based environment that users will eventually be able to access from mobile and personal devices.  The C5I Service Center (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence) estimates it will take at least a year to relocate the CG

Five new stations present opportunity for young leaders

Enlisted members below the rank of chief petty officer recently got some new opportunities to lead. In August 2021, the Coast Guard opened five new stations and opted to allow boatswain’s mates to apply to be officer-in-charge (OinC), a role that traditionally requires the rank of chief petty officer.  Petty Officer 1st Class Christian DiPaolo says

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Richard Etheridge crew offloaded approximately 1,700 kilograms of seized cocaine at Coast Guard Base San Juan Friday, following the disruption go-fast vessel smuggling attempt by Coast Guard and British Virgin Islands authorities near Anegada, British Virgin Islands. The seized cocaine has an estimated wholesale value of approximately $51 million dollars.
