Six exceptional service members will be honored at this year’s Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Conference.

Northland’s was the only ship known to carry Nazi POWs to prison and, later, carry Jewish refugees to Palestine.

U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Andres Murtillo enters the water Feb. 1, 2020, during a scuba dive about seven miles north of McMurdo Station, Antarctica.
