USCG Launches Everyone is a Recruiter incentive program

By Kara Noto, MyCG Writer

Coast Guard Recruiting Command (CGRC) has announced the Everybody is a Recruiter initiative, calling on all members, civilians, auxiliarists, and retirees to help recruit new active duty and reserve members.

Without county fairs or career days, the traditional face-to-face functions of our recruiters have been drastically curtailed. Current challenges in the recruiting environment make a recruiter’s work of connecting with 4,800 qualified candidates per year exponentially more difficult.

As you serve communities across the country, you are a brand ambassador for your service. The Everyone is a Recruiter initiative offers useful tools to reference as you encourage prospective candidates to consider a career with the Coast Guard. Your interactions as neighborhood leaders, parents, and coaches serve as the best examples of the critical work of our service.

As an extra incentive, the recruitment efforts offer various levels of recognition, personal awards, and commendations to include:
• Commandant’s Letter of Commendation Ribbon
• Auxiliary Letter of Commendation Ribbon
• 72 hours of special liberty
• Recognition in the Reservist Magazine
• Civilian Letter of Commendation and Time Off Award

No one knows the work better than you do. Your firsthand knowledge of the operational day-to-day are invaluable insights to anyone considering our service.
