Officers: Stuck on mid-term counseling? OPM has the solution

By Lt. Briana Biagas, Career Management Branch Officer Personnel Management OPM-4

The Career Management Branch Officer Personnel Management (OPM-4) is hosting a virtual roadshow for officers to introduce two new job aids for required mid-term counseling, April 27 at noon EDT.

Officers who receive or conduct mid-term counseling may benefit from these aids -- one is geared towards Reported-on Officers (ROO) and the other towards counselors. For officers getting counseled, the aids may assist in defining and developing topics of discussion prior to engaging in the meeting. For those providing counseling, they may assist both the counselor and ROO in preparing for and executing the session. Both serve as a broad resource with which to tailor a member’s specific needs in preparation for the counseling.

This virtual roadshow will review the intent of the job aids, how to maximize mid-term counseling, and answer questions officers or supervisors of officers may have about requirements for this touchpoint.  Following the presentation portion, members will be able to participate in an open discussion to learn more and have their questions answered. Already have questions? Please submit them  ahead of the event via the OPM-4 inbox or ask them during the session.

The event will be held via Teams. The job aids and respective roadshow link can be found on the OPM-4 SharePoint homepage: OPM-4 (sharepoint-mil.us). Please email the Career Management Branch (OPM-4) with any additional questions.

OPM asks that officers in the same command attend virtual roadshows from consolidated locations as much as possible. The recorded session will be available for viewing on OPM-4’s SharePoint page.
