CG seeks nominations for 2022 Civilian and Non-Appropriated Fund Employees of the Year

By AJ Pulkkinen, MyCG staff writer

You must submit nominations by July 14.

The CEOY and NAF EOY awards recognize outstanding achievements by Coast Guard civilians in all grade levels who have demonstrated superior job performance or significantly contributed beyond the scope of their normal duties during calendar year 2022.

Commands should assess all and nominate outstanding performers among eligible general schedule (GS), federal wage system (FWS) and NAF employees on their staffs.

Commands must prepare nominations cleared through the appropriate chain of command — unit commanders, commanding officers, officers-in-charge, deputy/assistant commandants, or chiefs of headquarters staff elements. The selection panels will only consider CEOY nominations that have the endorsement of the flag officer or senior executive service in the nominee’s chain of command.

You can submit CEOY nominations to CivilianAwardRequests@uscg.mil and NAF EOY nominations to Dina.Asmail@cgexchange.org

The selection panel will consider nomination packages in five groups based on the nominees’ pay grade:

  • up to two selectees at level GS-14 or FWS-14 and above.
  • up to two selectees at the GS-10 thru GS-13 or FWS-10 thru FWS-13.
  • up to two selectees at the GS-9 or FWS-9 and below.
  • one at the NAF 4-5 level.
  • one at the NAF 1-3 level.

The Coast Guard will honor the selectees at the annual CEOY/NAF EOY Awards Ceremony. After selections are made, the Office of Human Resources will provide selectees with detailed logistical information regarding the ceremony and events. Nominating commands will fund travel for award recipients and, at the command’s discretion, travel for guests under temporary duty (TDY) or invitational orders.
