This Halloween, “treat” a colleague to a DHS Leader Gram

By Alyssa Lombardi, DHS Leader Development Program Manager

Would you like to recognize a peer who goes to ‘bat’ for others? Or a coworker whose positive attitude and encouragement makes everyone in your office light up like a jack-o-lantern? Send a DHS Leader Gram to let them know how ‘wicked’ awesome they are this spooky season.

Designed for peer-to-peer recognition, a DHS Leader Gram is a small, yet meaningful way to shine a light on the leadership you see from your colleagues. You can let them know when you observed them leading, and why you appreciated it. And because you can also make their supervisors aware of the recognition, it’s a great tool to elevate them in the eyes of their manager.

While primarily for civilians, Leader Grams can be sent to anyone. And there’s no limit to how many you can send, ‘witch’ means you are free to send a whole ‘boo’-quet of Leader Grams to as many people as you’d like.

“It’s like getting a ray of sunshine in your inbox,” said Juliet Hudson in the Office of Domestic and International Port Security (CG-PSA). “We don’t move through our workday seeking recognition, but it is nice when someone appreciates your efforts.”
