The Coast Guard’s Online World of Learning to go-live on June 10

By AJ Pulkkinen, MyCG Writer

CG-OWL will take flight on June 10 for your online training needs. You will be able to take all training, including your mandated training courses (MT-A and MT-B), immediately upon takeoff.

Action needed

By Sept. 30, you need to download and save a copy of your training transcripts from the legacy learning management system. Legacy LMS will remain available only to allow access to transcripts and will go off-line in October. Your transcript will not transfer from LMS to CG-OWL. To get a copy of your transcript:

  • Sign into LMS (using Pixel icon)
  • Select: My Account
  • On Right hand menu Select Folder: My Transcript
  • Select Print: either print a hard copy or print to pdf and save to a folder

You will be able to access CG-OWL through the Pixel dashboard and use your CAC to login. All your courses taken in CG-OWL will generate a new entry in your CG-OWL transcript.

Questions

Learn more about CG-OWL, check out the FAQs, and find training resources and implementation timeline on FORCECOM’s CG-OWL Hub (I know, a missed opportunity to call it the OWL’s Nest). If you have more questions, email forcecom-btm-requests@uscg.mil.
