Ombudsmen are now recognized as official members of their command’s leadership team

The change in status comes from an update to the Ombudsman Program Instruction.

The 2021 Wanda Allen-Yearout Ombudsman of the Year announced, district winners recognized 

Ivonne Ontiveros-Lopez became the 36th awardee and newest recipient of the Ombudsman of the Year award.

Abbi McCracken named Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year for the Coast Guard

Coast Guard civilian, spouse, and ombudsman is acknowledged for winning Coast Guard Spouse of the Year.
