DHS Disability Mentoring Program Now Accepting Applications

By DHS Connect

The Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties is excited to announce the fourth cohort of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Disability Mentoring Program (DDMP). This is a great opportunity for DHS employees with disabilities to connect with a mentor who can offer critical insight and career advice to help support and navigate the next stages of their career.

DHS is committed to equal employment opportunity and diversity. We are also committed to becoming a model employer of individuals with disabilities and individuals with targeted disabilities. The DDMP demonstrates our proactive efforts to be the employer of choice which includes hiring, advancing, and retaining employees with disabilities.

The DDMP is open to all DHS employees with disabilities in headquarters and component offices. This program aims to provide valuable career development opportunities for both mentors and mentees. It is also an opportunity to learn from and network with colleagues across DHS.  Participants will be matched across the department, providing a forum to gain insight and perspective on the various career opportunities DHS has to offer.

Applications will be accepted through Friday, December 13, 2023. This nine-month mentoring starting in January, commemorates National Mentoring Month.
