Civilian Payroll Tax Deferral starts now
The Coast Guard’s civilian payroll provider will defer payroll taxes starting with your next paycheck, for pay period 18. The National Finance Center (NFC) is making this change to implement the Payroll Tax Deferral memorandum issued by President Donald J. Trump on Aug. 8.

Recovery from sexual assault takes time and support, and generally does not look the same from one person to another. For some survivors, talking about their assault helps them process the traumatic event they experienced and thus helps them along the road to recovery. Hearing first-hand accounts of those traumatic events helps family members, friends, supervisors, and peers to better understand what trauma looks like and being able to better connect with the survivor. Coast Guard approves new initiatives to recruit and retain members
The Coast Guard just announced monetary and non-monetary incentives designed to recruit and retain skilled members in the Coast Guard’s most mission-critical areas. The announcements cover officers and enlisted members and will be implemented in fiscal year 2021 (FY21).

The Government will defer Social Security taxes for many federal civilians and uniformed members through the end of this year. To calculate the impact on your personal pay, please see the “how-to” section below. You must pay these taxes back in 2021.
