2020 USCG Human Resource Management Achievement Award recipients announced

Five Coast Guard employees have been selected as the Human Resources Management Achievement Award

Rear Adm. Andrew Sugimoto currently serves as the Coast Guard’s Assistant Commandant for Intelligence. As the Coast Guard’s Chief of Intelligence, he leads the efforts of over 1,100 intelligence professionals who conduct the service’s intelligence programs, to include collection activities, analysis and production, geospatial intelligence, counterintelligence, cryptology and critical IT and security functions.

The Long Blue Line: The Coast Guard in Vietnam-a remembrance

Fifty-five years after the Coast Guard joined the fight in Vietnam, we commemorate those servicemembers who went in harm’s way, several of whom paid with their lives in a land far from home.

The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration program was created to right those wrongs. The commemoration honors all United States veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces from Nov. 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975. We are in the midst of a 50-year anniversary commemoration of that 20-year period of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.
