Coast Guard hosting 8 nutrition webinars before fall Body Comp Screenings

By Keisha Reynolds, MyCG Wrtier

The Wealth of Health nutritional series was borne from heightened interest and attendance in nutrition-related topics during Wellness Wednesday discussions. The eight sessions are being held each week, one per district, on a variety of nutritional topics, to help members prepare for the October body composition screenings (formerly called weigh-ins).

Lt. Elyse Bobczynski from the Office of Health, Safety and Work-life and series’ coordinator explained, “We noticed that we get a lot of interest in topics about nutrition and being healthy for Wellness Wednesdays,” said Bobczynski. “So we decided to break-off and work with CHAMP on a series that would be beneficial to our members and help them lose those COVID-19 pounds and get ready for the weigh ins.” She added, “Wellness Wednesday is for mental health and this series is for physical health.”
